Uttarakhand is an Indian state and located in Northern India. It borders with three states of Indian Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Uttarakhand is also bounded on the north by Tibet, on the east by Nepal, on the south. As per Ancient scriptures of Hinduism Vedas or Purans Uttarakhand was divided into two parts Kedar Khand and Manas Khand (Currently which are Garhwal and Kumaon region). Uttarakhand has two administrative divisions or regions Garghwal and Kumaon. Garghwal comprises districts of Chamoli, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal, Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, and Uttarkashi. Kumaon includes the districts of Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar
