Itinerary
Day 1
Meet upon arrival and transfer to your reserved accommodation. Late afternoon Shikara ride on Dal Lake visiting floating and Vegetable gardens etc. Dinner overnight in Deluxe Houseboat/hotel
Day 2
After early breakfast, join a sightseeing trip to Mughal Gardens The Mughal Gardens With terraced lawns, cascading fountains, paint-box-bright flowerbeds with the panorama of the Dal in front of them - the three Mughal Gardens of Nishat and Shalimar are the Mughal Emperors' concept of paradise and are today very popular places for picnics and excursions. Shankaracharya Temple Visit Shankaracharya Temple – 5 km from Nehru Park, the temple stands atop Takht-e-Suleman ( 1100 ft). The temple was built during the reign of Jehangir. Shankaracharya, a famous hindu saint came to Kashmir in early 9th century south India to preach and learn vedantic & Shaivism thoughts. The temple of Lord Shiva has a Shiv Lingam which worshipped by the Hindus. Drive to your reserved hotel / houseboat for Dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Full day excursion to Sonamarg. The distance of about 83 kms will be covered about 2-½ hrs. Sonamarg lies in Sindh Valley streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains. Sonamarg is also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of Himalayan Lake. The everlasting Thajiwas glacier, 3 Km from Sonamarg, provides a chance to enjoy sledge ride on Snow even in mid – summer. Ponies are available up to the glacier from Sonamarg. Drive back from Sonamarg and transfer to Deluxe Houseboat/Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4
After early breakfast and drive to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds) via old part of Srinagar. Drive through Saffron fields, visit Awantipura ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiwareman). Drive through the pine forest and along Lidder River. The total distance of about 98 kms will be covered in about 2 hrs. On arrival in Pahalgam check in at your reserved hotel for two nights stay. One can enjoy a pony ride through thick pine forest. Evening Return to your reserved accommodation for Dinner and overnight.
Day 5
Local Sightseeing. Trip to Aru or Chandenwari valley…on your own by local sumo jeep or ponies.
Day 6
After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 Mts. above sea Level. The distance of 155 kms will be covered in about 3½ hrs. Gulmarg has one Of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The View enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can also have a Short trek upto Khilangmarg which can be covered in about 3 to 4 hrs or enjoy a Cable car ride which takes to the highest point. On arrival check in at your reserved hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7
After breakfast, drive to Srinagar airport via Srinagar on time to catch your onward flight. Journey Ends with Sweet Memories
